Determining the Attitude of Surgical Nurses toward Older People

Background: Due to chronic diseases and physiological changes with aging, the surgical processes care requirements may change. Objectives: This study aimed determine attitudes of nurses toward older patients factors affecting attitude. Methods: descriptive cross-sectional was conducted 153 who worked in units a university hospital located Thrace region Turkey from February 21 March 11, 2020. Data were collected using nurse identification form Kogan’s Attitude Older People scale. analyzed Whitney-U test, Kruskal-Wallis test Spearman’s correlation coefficient. Results: The mean attitude score 126.23 ± 15.52, scores had postgraduate degrees statistically significantly higher than those high school (p < .05).
